30 July, 2020. Maybe next year?

My beautiful Byron,

This Thursday is slightly different as I am writing for the first time in full awareness that you are not able to read my weekly letters. This means I have to approach writing in a different way. Writing across the passage of time, like a time capsule that you can read at some future point.
I don’t know when that point will be, but I am going to guess maybe a year. So I am thinking, what would you be interested in from today, one year from now?

…………………The letter is no longer archived here. The entire content of Letters to Byron is a book, available in Paperback or Kindle.

……..Well. As usual, every Thursday when I wake up I remember its my day for writing and that gives me a good feeling. Today though, was not as good because I know for sure that your not able to access ‘letters to Byron’. None the less, I feel better as I write because this new challenge, writing for future Byron has some merit.

Today I spent most of my time working on my new book – called the Three Rs. Its a collection of short stories about behaviors. How we can look at history and see what people did and why. And then from that data, determine the likelihood of a different outcome when the same behaviors are repeated. It is a time intensive book, because I have to fact check data all the time and I am working with complex historical subjects, like the last three days of the Third Reich, The Slave Trade, and the Greek Junta. Which was a coup – a take over of the government in Greece in 1967 by a gang of right wing religious goons, who did some awful things to people by abusing power in an Autocratic system, which is very much what we do not want to see in your lifetime.

One year from now I guess, the book will by published, and you will be interested in reading the stories. And we will know by then what the outcome was of the racist religious right behaviors we see around today, as the 2020 election comes along in America.

Meanwhile, I am going through a walking phase, and walking 12,000 steps a day on average. The picture below is where I walk, called Top of the World. You have been there a few times. I wonder if you remember? The picture on top is in Newport Beach, the Lighthouse restaurant. You have been there as well. I was there last weekend.

Miss you,
Love you,
Daddy
