Recorded in Laguna Beach in the Summer of 2015 this unique listening experience is a fusion of natural organic sounds written and performed by two genre leading accomplished musicians (who have worked previously with Paul McCartney, James Brown, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Leo Sayer, Roger Taylor, Peter Green and Pat Metheny) and recorded using state of the art digital processing with high production values. Laguna gives listeners a really peaceful experience that also stimulates the brain.
Over one hour of music presented in a new age ambient style, instrumentation includes nylon and steel string acoustic guitars, acoustic piano, bouzouki, ethnic, percussive wood and bamboo instruments, singing bowls, wave recordings from Laguna Beach after midnight, birdsong and human and dolphin voices.
Inspired by the philosophies of ascended master Krishna vardu Ghan, Brel and Niles accentuated certain frequencies and used specific musical intervals designed to increase coherent thought, serenity, expansion and happiness. Neuroscience and psychophysiology have shown that eastern meditation produces high-power ‘alpha waves’. This distinct brain pattern corresponds to the state of relaxed inner wakefulness and is strongest in the pre-frontal cortex—the area of the brain associated with executive judgment.
For this reason, Brel and Niles are proud to have produced an experience for the listener that results in an integrated and coherent brain, improved mental performance, memory, comprehension and focus. “Laguna” is subtitled “Music for Wellness and Meditation”
But it is also “Music for Success.”
Each of the tracks relates to one of the “Seven Keys of Conduct” of Krishna vardu Ghan. As Niles says, “What attracted me was the down-to-earth pragmatism of Ghan’s teaching. His philosophy did not urge people to renounce the world and sit under a tree. One of his most well-known sayings was, ‘Yes. Meditate… and then you will know what your work can be.’”
Brel agrees “By using lo-tech state-of-the art processing I was able to find and present those frequencies known to produce the ‘Alpha State’ which works on restoring neurological balance. The user feedback has been tremendous, people telling us that they come away from listening with a supercharged clarity of mind. Which is how I felt all the way through the recording process.”
